CEO of Accountability Plus, Karen founded the company in 1999 after bookkeeping for nine years at a Silicon Valley commercial real estate firm and two Santa Barbara CPA firms. Her affiliations include Treasurer of the National Association of Women Business Owners, (NAWBO) past VP and current member of the American Payroll Association (APA)–Santa Barbara Chapter, past President of the Santa Barbara Bookkeeper’s Association, and past payroll Instructor at SBCC. Karen enjoys scuba diving, reading, gardening and traveling to Costa Rica with her husband in her free time.
OV Mora
Ovidio Mora “OV”
Ovidio immigrated to the US from Costa Rica in 1988, and worked in food services in FL, OR, and Santa Barbara, where he met and married Karen. Fondly known as “OV”, he joined the Accountability Plus team in 2002 as the outside liaison and “face of AccPlus.” His duties include IT support and bookkeeping. OV enjoys scuba diving, cycling, and socializing in his free time.

Born and raised in Long Beach, Andy moved to Santa Barbara in 1997 where he and his wife have raised two children, now both in their 20’s. He has over 40 years’ experience as owner/operator of a property management company. During this period Andy held the elite mark of distinction the “Certified Property Manager” Designation and a Real Estate Broker’s License.

Antoinette has over 25 years of bookkeeping in Santa Barbara. She worked for a Santa Barbara contractor for 20 years as a bookkeeper and office manager before coming to Accountability Plus. She has applied her skill toward multiple industries, such as rental properties and private small-business entities. Antoinette enjoys playing tennis with her husband, yoga, nature walks with her girlfriends, and spending time with her growing family whenever possible.

Chery is pleased to bring Accountability Plus her leadership expertise in business management, technology, and HR, honed in the private and nonprofit sectors. She holds an MBA in Management & Strategy and a BS in HR Management. She is a SHRM-certified HR Professional in both federal and California employment law, a long-time member of SHRM, and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. In her free time, Chery enjoys spending time with family and friends, adventuring on her road bike, and exploring and embracing the world and its cultural diversity.

A Santa Barbara native with over 15 years of bookkeeping experience, Crystal obtained her BA in Liberal Studies, emphasis in Management & Leadership, in 2015. Her specialty niche is non-profit organizations. She is the treasurer of Bishop Diego High School’s Cardinal Club, which has multiple fundraising efforts to support the athletic program. During her spare time, Crystal enjoys bike riding with her two boys and going to the beach.

She is a lifelong Santa Barbara resident and loves spending time with her two teenage daughters, traveling, cooking, watching movies, and camping whenever possible.

Erin graduated Cum Laude from Colorado State University in October 2015 with a B.S. in Accounting. She is a Santa Barbara native. Her interests include: dancing, baking, cooking, hiking, plants, architecture, and visiting national parks. She enjoys experimenting with new recipes and baking tasty breads and desserts for potlucks and friends (making use of Santa Barbara's variety of fresh, local fruit).

He served as a financial consultant at major brokerage firms, including Charles Schwab and Morgan Stanley, where he helped high-net-worth clients with investment and retirement planning. A Santa Barbara resident since 1984, Jeff earned BA degrees in both Environmental Studies and Geography from UCSB. Following 20 years in the hospitality industry, he earned a post-graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting from UCSB. Jeff has 14 years of experience in bookkeeping and corporate accounting, 11 years in income tax preparation, and has worked with numerous, diverse industries. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, camping, fishing, birding, and traveling.

Jennifer has over fourteen years of experience in bookkeeping in both Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. In 2017, She received her Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation. She is a California native and a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a BS Degree in Graphic Communications. In her spare time, Jennifer and her husband enjoy movies, plays, concerts, and local festivals, as well as scuba diving and travel.

She is a  proud 15-year member of the PTSA Boards of Vieja Valley, La Colina, and San Marcos High School. Loretta enjoys walking at Hendry’s beach, reading a great romantic paperback, and especially spending time with her husband and grandchildren in her spare time.

Carrie has been a Medical Billing and Business Consultant since 2002. In addition, she was a Health and Life Insurance Agent for several years, specializing in employer group benefits administration. Carrie obtained her BS in Hospitality Administration in 1992 from Cornell University and her MBA from Empire State College in 2012. She resides in Santa Barbara and enjoys visiting friends and family on the East Coast.

After graduating in Economics and Accounting from UCSB, Foad started his accounting career in a tax resolution firm. He soon finished his Enrolled Agent and CTEC licenses and became a tax focused bookkeeper. His focus is proper bookkeeping for tax purposes. Foad was recruited by Intuit Inc as a TurboTax Live Expert during tax peaks and QuickBooks Live Expert outside of tax season. In 2022, he moved back to Santa Barbara to join Accountability Plus. In his free time, he enjoys biking, pottery, walking his dog, and traveling.
