Meet The Team

CEO of Accountability Plus, Karen founded the company in 1999 after bookkeeping for nine years at a Silicon Valley commercial real estate firm and two Santa Barbara CPA firms. Her affiliations include Treasurer of the National Association of Women Business Owners, (NAWBO) past VP and current member of the American Payroll Association (APA)–Santa Barbara Chapter, past President of the Santa Barbara Bookkeeper’s Association, and past payroll Instructor at SBCC. Karen enjoys scuba diving, reading, gardening and traveling to Costa Rica with her husband in her free time.

Ovidio immigrated to the US from Costa Rica in 1988, and worked in food services in FL, OR, and Santa Barbara, where he met and married Karen. Fondly known as “OV”, he joined the Accountability Plus team in 2002 as the outside liaison and “face of AccPlus.” His duties include IT support and bookkeeping. OV enjoys scuba diving, cycling, and socializing in his free time.

Born and raised in Long Beach, Andy moved to Santa Barbara in 1997 where he and his wife have raised two children, now both in their 20’s. He has over 40 years’ experience as owner/operator of a property management company. During this period Andy held the elite mark of distinction the “Certified Property Manager” Designation and a Real Estate Broker’s License.

Antoinette has over 25 years of bookkeeping in Santa Barbara. She worked for a Santa Barbara contractor for 20 years as a bookkeeper and office manager before coming to Accountability Plus. She has applied her skill toward multiple industries, such as rental properties and private small-business entities. Antoinette enjoys playing tennis with her husband, yoga, nature walks with her girlfriends, and spending time with her growing family whenever possible.

Chery is pleased to bring Accountability Plus her leadership expertise in business management, technology, and HR, honed in the private and nonprofit sectors. She holds an MBA in Management & Strategy and a BS in HR Management. She is a SHRM-certified HR Professional in both federal and California employment law, a long-time member of SHRM, and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. In her free time, Chery enjoys spending time with family and friends, adventuring on her road bike, and exploring and embracing the world and its cultural diversity.

Chris Curry calls Santa Barbara home now, having recently relocated from Austin, Texas. He has over 20 years of experience as an IT professional. Chris is excited about his new position here at Accountability Plus and is looking forward to making new friends and exploring more of Santa Barbara.

Cindy has over 20 years of payroll experience, is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) with the American Payroll Association, and has received her Certificate in Business Accounting through UCSB. She is a lifelong Santa Barbara resident and loves spending time with her two teenage daughters, traveling, cooking, watching movies, and camping whenever possible.

Eric has 20 years of bookkeeping and entrepreneurial experience. He has owned and managed the finances for multiple entities simultaneously and, in doing so, has been solely responsible for accounts ranging up to $25M. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his son, hiking, sailing, and camping.

A Santa Barbara native, Eric earned his BA in Economics & Business Administration from Boston University. He has been in the financial industry since 1999 and has worked in banking, lending, accounting, tax preparation, and as a financial advisor. In his free time, Eric enjoys hockey, karaoke, poker, golf and cooking.

Erin graduated Cum Laude from Colorado State University in October 2015 with a B.S. in Accounting. She is a Santa Barbara native. Her interests include: dancing, baking, cooking, hiking, plants, architecture, and visiting national parks. She enjoys experimenting with new recipes and baking tasty breads and desserts for potlucks and friends (making use of Santa Barbara's variety of fresh, local fruit).

Frank brings a unique blend of skills, training and experience to the AccPlus team. He served as a financial consultant at major brokerage firms, including Charles Schwab and Morgan Stanley, where he helped high-net-worth clients with investment and retirement planning. He also worked as a field agent for a retirement division of AIG, covering the California Central Coast.

A Santa Barbara resident since 1984, Jeff earned BA degrees in both Environmental Studies and Geography from UCSB. Following 20 years in the hospitality industry, he earned a post-graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting from UCSB. Jeff has 14 years of experience in bookkeeping and corporate accounting, 11 years in income tax preparation, and has worked with numerous, diverse industries. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, camping, fishing, birding, and traveling.

Jennifer has over fourteen years of experience in bookkeeping in both Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. In 2017, She received her Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation. She is a California native and a graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a BS Degree in Graphic Communications. In her spare time, Jennifer and her husband enjoy movies, plays, concerts, and local festivals, as well as scuba diving and travel.

A Santa Barbara native, Loretta has worked as a bookkeeper for a variety of Santa Barbara businesses over the past 30 years. She is a  proud 15-year member of the PTSA Boards of Vieja Valley, La Colina, and San Marcos High School. Loretta enjoys walking at Hendry’s beach, reading a great romantic paperback, and especially spending time with her husband and grandchildren in her spare time.

Rebecca has twenty years of bookkeeping experience spanning a variety of industries including retail, construction and special events. She is a graduate of San Diego State University and has served with a number of local non-profits including the Goleta Valley South Little League, American Heart Association and the National Charity League. In her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with family.

Cindy comes to us with almost 30 years of experience in administration and administrative support and truly values building relationships with team members and clients to ensure that our clients get the best service. Raised in Santa Barbara/Goleta, she is proud to represent her community in providing excellent customer service and strong attention to detail. Cindy has a positive attitude and genuine respect for the people she interacts with.  She enjoys music, dancing, concerts, outdoor adventures, plants, traveling, and spending time with her daughters and her two Golden Retrievers.

Tauna Chimienti has been in the Retail and Hospitality industries since 1995. Areas of expertise include leadership, accounting , and building strong teams. She has a BA in Philosophy from University of California, Santa Barbara , and an AA in Small Business Management from Allan Hancock College. Tauna resides in Santa Barbara and enjoys live music and exploring the Santa Ynez Valley.

Carrie has been a Medical Billing and Business Consultant since 2002. In addition, she was a Health and Life Insurance Agent for several years, specializing in employer group benefits administration. Carrie obtained her BS in Hospitality Administration in 1992 from Cornell University and her MBA from Empire State College in 2012. She resides in Santa Barbara and enjoys visiting friends and family on the East Coast.

Nancy Soans brings a diverse professional and administrative background to ACC+ ranging from risk management and Workers’ Comp. cost containment consulting to nearly 20 years working in a tax and investment practice where she opened and serviced client investment accounts using her Series 7 and 24 licenses. Nancy has created and led a variety of professional training programs and has always been an advocate for women’s issues. Having lived in the Pacific NW briefly, she served on the BOD for a women’s group where she spearheaded self-defense training for girls and women, and launched a Human Trafficking public awareness campaign…

Jennifer Glaser has been bookkeeping since 2002 and has a wealth of experience in various industries, including landscaping and construction, wholesale and retail, manufacturing, E-commerce, and medical. She resides in her hometown of Ojai with her two wonderful daughters and her amazing dog. In her free time, she loves spending time in nature with family and friends, sharing and cooking meals with friends, and catching live music when possible.

Elenita Regala has extensive financial management experience, including funding, cash forecasting and management, internal control systems, compliance, and insurance programs. Prior to joining Accountability Plus, she worked as a Financial Controller for a show production company in Las Vegas, managing the parent company and all its subsidiaries. As a Controller, Elen has oversight on financial reporting, cash management, legal and corporate matters. She manages the finance department, ensuring accounting systems, tools, and staff are supporting the company’s short- and long-term goals while strategically guiding the company through key business decisions and performing competitive market analysis. Myra Ginter worked for franchisor Payroll Vault Corporate in Colorado for three years prior to joining Accountability Plus. In 2023, she joined Accountability Plus as a member of its Payroll Vault team. Her expertise includes running payroll, training others on the Payroll Vault software, and client onboarding. Myra holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and an associate degree in Entertainment Management/Audio Production. She resides in Meriden, CT with her husband and pets. She enjoys hiking with the family and spending time at the local lake during the summer.

Tatiana comes to us with a varied background in administration, office management and various accounting roles from AP specialist to staff accountant. She earned her BS from University of CT, managed $25M equipment overseas in US Army, and co-created an inventory database system for micro-electronics R&D firm prior to joining Accountability Plus. Tatiana is new to the Santa Barbara area after 30+years as a Ventura County resident. She enjoys hiking, dancing, walking, swimming and learning of new activities in the SB area, as well as volunteering in her spiritual community.

As CFO at Accountability Plus, Karsten is a member of the Leadership team and a company director. In the role of CFO, he provides strategic financial planning, forecasting, and cash & equity management. As a director, he guides new client onboarding management, mentors and trains staff in operations processes, and oversees ERP, Web, POS, and Middleware systems, including SOP and training. An accomplished and multi-faceted Business Strategist, Karsten has an impressive list of competencies that covers a wide variety of diverse industries and skill sets. Kaylie Lyness comes to us from iSolved, where she has six years of payroll experience and over 10 years’ experience in its customer service department. She has served on the leadership team while directly supporting clients. Kaylie resides in Oregon. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her son, her golden retriever, and playing softball.

Dani Arellanes has seven years of experience in the accounting industry. She began her career in the tax department of a software company before transitioning to a role as a bookkeeper at Accountability Plus. Originally from Santa Barbara, Dani has recently settled in Irvine with her fiancé. She graduated with Honors from UC Irvine, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Accounting, and later earned her associate’s degree in accounting from Santa Barbara City College. In her spare time, Dani enjoys kickboxing, Pilates, traveling, and dancing.
